Maxine M. Myers

Maxine Mable (Morelock) Myers was born on January 11, 1922 to Jacob and Rena (Smith) Morelock in Fremont County, Iowa. Maxine entered into rest on February 20, 2012 in Shenandoah, Iowa following a brief illness. Maxine attended Maple Grove Country School through the 8th grade, graduating from Shenandoah High School in 1939. Maxine joined the Fisher Loyal Workers 4-H Club at 10 and noted its positive influence on her life. Maxine was united in marriage to Clifford Harry Myers on September 20, 1942 at the Summit Methodist Church, south of Shenandoah. Maxine and Clifford were blessed with four children; twins--Larry and Harry, Keith and Sharon. Clifford and Maxine spent their life farming until their retirement in 1992 when they moved to Shenandoah. Maxine celebrated her 90th birthday in January and to her delight was honored with a well attended Open House at Gardenview Care Center in Shenandoah on January 15th. Maxine enjoyed journaling for over 30 years, crossword puzzles, educating others on the history of Shenandoah, Page and Fremont Counties and playing the piano.
