Arden L. Lind

Age 86 of Forest Lake, died peacefully on February 18, 2012 while surrounded by family. Survived by his wife Patricia (Patty); four children, Richard Arden Lind, Pamela Elayne (Larry) Calander, Bruce James (Christine) Lind, Cathy Jeanne (Timothy) MacKenzie; sister, Marseille (Jay) McCrehin; sister-in-law Janice Lind; grandchildren, Chelsea (Leif) Erickson, Aleesha (Mike) Ackerman, Kimberly (Eric) Smith, Amanda (Ben) VanSanten, Kasey (Bimal) Kharel, Tyler (Shelley) MacKenzie, Shelby MacKenzie, Erik (Mallory) Lind, Bryon Lind, Caileena (Donovan) Lind; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Lind in 2008, daughter-in-law Dorian Lind in 2010. Arden was born November 8, 1925 to Charles Eldred and Edna Lind on a farm in St. James, MN. He developed an early interest in electronics, spending much time working with radios in his shop that was set up in an out-building on the farm. He fell in love with and married his wife of 65 years, Patricia Mary Alice Pack, while stationed at Chicago's Navy Pier during WWII. After a short stint in the electronics sales industry, he started Pat Lind Electronics in 1959, selling a variety of electronic test equipment. Palico Instruments Laboratories later evolved, allowing him to invent and produce a line of his own test equipment, eventually specializing in battery and special aerospace test equipment that are used as industry standards throughout the world. His work was his life's passion from which he could never bring himself to retire. A celebration of his life will be held this summer on July 29 at their family home in Forest Lake, MN.
