NAOMI YOUNG MUSCATINE, Iowa - Naomi June Young, 95, of Muscatine, died on Thursday, February 16, 2012, at her home. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend David Ivie of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate the service. An honorary bearer will be Duane Goedkin. Casket bearers will be Zach Young, Barry Young, Rob Drummond, Meigen Fink, Mauri Johnson, and Lindsey Morris. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Muscatine Humane Society. The family would like to give special thanks to Violet, Bobbie, Vi, Kathy, and Jo Ann, for their assistance and care. Naomi was born on June 22, 1916, in Muscatine, the daughter of John and Anna Laughlin Wiegand. She married Merle Young Jr. on December 25, 1938, in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1995. Muscatine Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Geneva Golf and Country Club. She was part owner of Young Brothers Stamp Works. Those left to honor her memory include two sons, James M. Young and wife, Delma, of Muscatine, and Thomas J. Young and wife, Nancy, of Muscatine; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Carol Drummond; one granddaughter, Anne Drummond Egberts; and one brother, Harry Wiegand.
