Delores L. Hanna

Delores Louise Hanna was born August 19, 1950, in Algona, Iowa, the daughter of Franklin and Joan (Baade) Fox. She grew up and attended school in Wesley, graduating from Corwith-Wesley High School in 1968. On November 29, 1969, Delores was united in marriage to Gene Hanna at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. Following their marriage they spent a short time residing in Rolfe before moving to the Hanna family farm near Lone Rock where she was a homemaker and helped with the farm work. To this union were three children. She enjoyed coaching little league as well as junior high and high school sports. When the children were older she worked at Exceptional Opportunities in Burt and later as a care provider for both adults and children. Delores eventually moved to an acreage near Titonka and most recently resided in Algona. Delores was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Delores enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and following her children and grandchildren in their activities and sporting events, as well as gardening, canning and just being outdoors. lways known to be quick with a laugh. Even through sickness she was always able to keep humor in the conversation. Delores died Thursday, February 16, 2012, at her residence in Algona, Iowa. She was 61. She is survived by her children, Christopher and Cyndi Hanna and their children, Abby and Jessy of Soldotna, Alaska; Gina and Shane Helmers and their children, Riley, Caleb and Ben of Algona; Amy and Clint Profit and their children, Tommy, Alex and Carson of Spirit Lake; siblings, Darlene and Eldon Geary of Lee's Summit, Missouri; Richard and Pam Fox of Marion; Donna and Bruce Briggs of Grinnell and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
