Randolph Eugene "Randy" Norton, 58, of New London, died at his home.
He was born September 13, 1953 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Oscar and June McCarl Norton. On March 20, 1976 he married Darlene Giberson in Mt. Pleasant. He worked at Ceco in Mt. Pleasant while attending Ottumwa truck driving school on nights and weekends. He was an over-the-road driver for Ceco and Wal-Mart in Mt. Pleasant, JI Case in Burlington, and a tour bus company. He loved cats and donated supplies and money to Protectors of Animal Welfare (PAW) in Ft. Madison. He loved vacations in Florida, especially the Orlando area, and took his nieces and nephews on dream Disney and Hawaiian vacations, and to Six Flags in St. Louis. He liked riding around in his Bucket-T. His nephew, Eric, will always remember him as Tickle Man.
Mr. Norton is survived by his wife, of New London; three sisters, Debra Ferguson of Wever, Kathy Wixom, of New London, and Teresa Smallwood, of Moberly, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Elliott Chapel, New London. There will be no service. According to his wis...[more]
