Elizabeth A. Lampe

Graveside inurnment will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:30 AM at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Bancroft. Elizabeth Anna Lampe was born July 6, 1923 in Wichita, Kansas, daughter of Lawrence A. and Beatrice A. (Allen) Konecny. Betty's siblings were Florence, Barbara, Charles, Donald, and a brother who died in infancy. Betty grew up in San Diego, California where she graduated from High School and then from Nursing School. Betty was married to Edward L. Lampe on September 9, 1939, in San Diego, CA. She worked as a registered nurse at various hospitals near San Diego mainly at the University of California San Diego Hospital retiring in 1984. Ed and Betty were champion roller skaters, entering their first contest in 1954, where they won 1st place in novice category. They continued winning championships into the 1960's. Ed and Betty also were award winning orchid growers. Betty became a resident of St. Luke's Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth Minnesota in November, 2009. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn and Teresa; two sisters-in-law, Anna Doocy of Lone Rock and Dorothy Jensen of Santee, CA; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward on January 17, 2006; and her son Edward Lampe Jr. on June 30, 2007.
