Elinor M. Kleinsmith, 80, of Elwood, Iowa, died on Saturday morning, February 11, 2012, at her home in Elwood, Iowa. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, February 15, 2012, from the Elwood United Methodist Church in Elwood, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Elwood, Iowa Cemetery. Elinor Mae Adrian was born on July 26, 1931 in Elwood, Iowa, to August and Bernice (Ruggeberg) Adrian. She was a 1949 graduate of Elwood High School and then attended A.I.C. Business College in Davenport, Iowa where she played A.A.U. Basketball traveling the southern United States and Central America. She married Forrest "Jack" Kleinsmith on July 10, 1952 in Elwood, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1984. Elinor had farmed with her husband in the Elwood area until 1977. They then moved to Elwood and she began working for Nissen-Caven Agency in Maquoketa as a secretary for 18 years. Elinor was a member of the Elwood United Methodist Church and the church women. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Steven in 2004.
