"Betty (Dawson) Weiss (born 1922 in Riverside California) died peacefully on March 27th after a 20 year battle with leukemia and under the loving care of Dr. Robert Decker. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Morris Weiss; brother, Omer Dawson; four children: Victor (Ellen) Santochi, Trevor Santochi, Karl Abowitz and Laura (Abowitz) Spielman; dear family friend, Ines Christian; and five grandchildren. Betty served as a Lieutenant in WW II as a physical therapist at an Army Air Corps base near Chelmsford, England, which began a 50-year career in hospital and private practices. Despite her diagnosis, she led an active and independent life providing care to stroke patients, enjoying family, golf and bowling. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Tower Cancer Research Foundation. The family will hold a private service."[more]
