Died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 of leukemia. Born September 16, 1926, Marvin was a native and life-long Los Angeleno, attended Dorsey High School, and was graduated from the University of Southern California. While at USC, he was a member of its 1949 national championship volleyball team. A pharmacist, Marvin briefly operated a pharmacy he owned with his brother, Larry, then worked for drug manufacturer Riker Laboratories, in Northridge, for 35 years. He retired as its Director of Manufacturing in 1986.Marvin is the beloved husband of Eve Balloff Margolies, with whom he recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. A devoted family man, Marvin loved spending time with his children and grandchildren - son Gary and daughter-in-law Tammy Margolies and their children Jake and Kate,daughter Jane and son-in-law Mike Nichol and their children Riley and Georgia, and daughter Linda and son-in-law Lee Salem and their children Stephanie and Scott. He is also survived by brothers Larry and Sandy Margolies and sister-in-law Phyllis Margolies.
